Professional Bio: I have been at The University of West Alabama since 1971. Since that time, I have been active in many aspects of the University and the community. I have served on the Ruby Pickens Tartt Public Library Board since 1973, and served as President of the Board for two four year terms. I have also served on the Sumter County Fine Arts Council since 1974, and I have served two terms as President of the Council. I organized the Friends of the Coleman Cultural Arts Center in 1990, and remain an active member. I have been involved in many, many projects designed to help build a better community and university.

Additional information:
  • I have been active in the York Rotary Club since 1975, and served as President. I was the recipient of the District Service Before Self Award.
  • I have served as Chairperson of the Sumter County Heart Drive since 1999, and have received awards each year from the American Heart Association for leading Sumter County to exceed its quota.
  • Recipient of the Humanitarian Award of the Alabama Library Association.
