Accredited Institutions and Nationally Recognized Programs

This section provides directory information on NCATE-accredited institutions and programs recognized by specialty professional associations.

Meeting professional standards is an indicator of a quality program that prospective students look for when seeking an institution at which to study. This page will list nationally recognized programs as the specialty professional associations make available their listings.

NCATE is the teaching profession’s accrediting body—a mechanism to ensure high quality teacher preparation. Institutions that have gained NCATE accreditation have met national standards in areas such as design of curriculum, assessment of candidate performance, faculty qualifications, supervision of clinical experiences, and adequate and up-to-date resources.
