Introduction to NCATE Program StandardsProgram reviews—whether they are conducted by the state, NCATE, or another national accrediting association—are a required component of the NCATE accreditation review. BOE teams rely on results of program reviews as evidence of candidate proficiency in specific program and content areas. This introduction describes the NCATE program review process. Institutions located in states where the program review process is conducted by the state should contact their state agency responsible for program approval for further information on how the reviews are conducted. 2.
