Professional Bio: I taught social sciences at Eden Gardens Junior/Senior High School in Shreveport, LA after graduating with a BA degree in Social Sciences and English education.  I was named principal of Nueces Canyon High School in Barksdale, Texas.  After resigning this position, I was elected to the Board of Education for Nueces Canyon Consolidated Independent School District.  I was appointed to the faculty at Sul Ross State University-Uvalde Study Center, now Rio Grande College.  I returned to Northwestern State University as an associate professor of education. I have been employed at UWA since 1989.
